Changelog

Every DuoDash release, newest first — what was added, what was fixed, and the iOS versions each build supports.

  • 1.0.0

First public release. DuoDash runs two apps side by side on your car display, brings apps CarPlay does not normally show onto it, and adds navigation, voice and performance controls around them.

Installed through Havoc on a jailbroken iPhone. See the install guide, and check compatibility first.

    New

    • DualApps — run two apps side by side on the car display.
    • App Picker — choose the app for each pane, and drag to resize the split.
    • App Bridge — put iPhone apps that CarPlay does not normally show onto the car screen.
    • Navigation Bubble — speed limits and speed-camera warnings from your navigation app.
    • Voice Command — the steering-wheel button opens an app’s voice search instead of Siri.
    • HUD Device — pairs with the optional DuoDash heads-up display.
    • Performance Tweak — five switches for battery, heat and memory.
    • Headunit Info — shows your display’s resolution and the video quality to use.
    • Splash Screen — three start-up designs, or none.
    • Language — 17 languages, switched inside DuoDash.
    • Tweak Management — manages compatible extension modules.
    • DuoDash Status — reports its own health, and can re-enable its tweaks.
    • Crash reporter — collects diagnostics when DuoDash misbehaves.

    Known issues

    • Performance Tweak — marked beta, and all five switches are off after installation.
    • Crash reporter — reports are saved on the phone; the reporting server is not in place yet.
    • Navigation Bubble — stays empty unless the navigation app is running in one of the two panes.
    • Headunit Info — reads Unknown until the iPhone has connected to a vehicle once.
    • Tweak Management — nothing to manage yet, as the Developer API is not published.
    • App Picker — a map or similarly heavy app can take 10–25 seconds to draw the first time it loads into a pane.
    • Optimize CPU And Thermal — only takes effect after CarPlay has been reconnected.

    Requires iOS 14 – 16.
